Chic of the Week

Who: Star of The City and "staffer" in ELLE's PR department.

What: A flowing white and black floor length dress by DVF.

When: Friday, August 28, 2009.

Where: The U.S. Open Player Party Presented by Heineken in New York.

Why: Though she's somehow all at once bonkers and completely rigid, I think Olivia Palermo is an absolute riot to watch. But truth be told, her antics are not the only thing that holds my attention - I am sort of in love with Oliv's style. I am always looking for ways to include edgier looks into my wardrobe, but still look polished, and I think Miss Palermo executes this seamlessly. I mean, come on, the girl makes leather leggings look Upper East Side. Here she stays true to her former "employer" in the designer's frock with sheer white and black patterned overlay. The look is wispy yet architectural and grounded with a pair of chunky shoes and tame hair, to keep it from getting too girly. And that neckline! Phenomonal!
